From the organizers:
The International Society of Protistologists (ISOP) and the International Society for Evolutionary Protistology (ISEP) cordially invite you to attend PROTIST 2008.The meeting, held jointly by both societies, will take place 21-26 July, 2008, on the campus of Dalhousie University, in the centre of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
Halifax is the largest and most culturally rich city in Atlantic Canada, and is located in the centre of the province of Nova Scotia, a noted summer tourism destination. Dalhousie University itself has an international reputation in cell and microbial genome evolution, especially evolutionary protistology.
The scientific sessions will begin on July 22. The meeting will feature sessions on all aspects of protistology, and include symposia on protist phylogenomics and on protist organelles and cell biology.
In order to make the meeting accessible to all scientists and trainees, accommodation will be available both in on-campus dormitory-style rooms and in nearby hotels. Dormitory rooms are available to students at special rates (~$30/night per person) and at slightly higher rates for non-students.
